Booking & Rescheduling
 
How do I book a session?
To book a session, please contact me or click the link here. Once we confirm the date, time, location and package, your booking will be secured after the deposit has been paid.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session date and time. The remaining balance can be paid after the session.
Is the deposit refundable?
The deposit is non-refundable, as it holds your date and time for you. However, I understand that things can happen, especially with children and weather, so I’m happy to reschedule when needed.
Can I change my session date?
Yes, if you need to change your session date, please contact me as early as possible. I’ll do my best to find another available date for you.
What happens if the weather is bad?
For outdoor sessions, I keep an eye on the weather forecast. If the weather is not suitable for photos, such as rain or strong wind, we can reschedule to another available date.
What if my child is sick on the day?
If your child is unwell, please let me know as soon as possible. It’s always better to reschedule than to force the session when they are not feeling well.

Packages & Photos
 
How many photos are included in my package?
Each package includes a different number of fully edited digital images. Please check the package details.
Can I choose the photos myself?
I carefully select the best images from your session based on expression, focus, lighting, composition and overall quality. This helps me deliver a consistent final gallery with the best moments from your session.
After your included photos are delivered, if you would like more images, you can purchase additional photos from the sample gallery.
What is the difference between fully edited images and the full gallery?
Fully edited images are carefully finished one by one, including colour, brightness, skin tone and small detailed adjustments.
The full gallery is a collection of lightly edited images from your session. It is a great option if you would like to keep more moments from the day, but the editing level is different from the fully edited images included in your package.
Can I purchase extra photos?
Yes. If you would like more photos than the number included in your package, you can purchase additional fully edited images. You can also choose to purchase the full gallery if you would like to keep more images from the session.
Do you provide RAW files?
No, I do not provide RAW files or unedited images. RAW files and unedited images are unfinished working files, and the final photos are delivered as edited high-resolution JPEG files.

Before & During the Session
 
What should we wear?
I recommend wearing soft, natural colours and avoiding large logos, busy patterns or very bright colours. You don’t need to match perfectly, but choosing colours that work well together will help your photos look more timeless and natural.
If you need any outfit ideas, I’m happy to help.
What if my child doesn’t smile?
That’s completely okay. I don’t force children to smile or pose too much. I focus on capturing natural moments, connection, movement and the little expressions that show your family as you are.
Where will the session take place?
Most sessions take place outdoors around Christchurch. I’m happy to suggest a location depending on your family, the season, the weather and the style you like.
I’m also available for sessions anywhere in New Zealand, including locations such as Lake Tekapo. Please feel free to ask if you have a special location in mind, as an additional travel fee may apply depending on the location.
Can we visit two locations during the session?
Yes, visiting two locations may be possible depending on the session time, distance and schedule. Please let me know in advance if you would like to include two locations, as an additional fee applies.
Can we bring grandparents or extended family?
Yes, you can include grandparents or extended family members. Please let me know in advance if you would like to include more people, as larger groups may require more time and an additional fee.
Can I request specific poses or photo ideas?
Yes, you are welcome to share any ideas or inspiration before the session. I’ll do my best to include them while keeping the session natural and relaxed.
What happens during the session?
The session is usually relaxed and natural. I’ll guide you when needed, but I also like to capture real interactions, small moments and genuine expressions rather than only posed photos.
Is there a travel fee?
Travel fees may apply for locations more than 15 km from my Christchurch base. Travel fees start from $10 and may vary depending on the distance and location.

Delivery & Privacy
 
When will I receive my photos?
The usual delivery time is around 2–4 weeks after the session. During busy periods, it may take around 4–6 weeks. Final photos are delivered after the remaining balance has been paid.
How will I receive my photos?
Your final photos will be delivered through a private online gallery. You will be able to view and download your images from the gallery.
Can I download and print the photos myself?
Yes. Your final edited images are delivered as high-resolution JPEG files, so you can download them and print them for personal use.
Can I share the photos on social media?
Yes, you are welcome to share your final photos on social media. I always appreciate being tagged or credited, but it is not required.
Will you use our photos on your website or social media?
Photo usage permission is asked in the booking questionnaire. I only use photos for my website, social media, Google Business Profile or portfolio if you have given permission. I respect your privacy, and your preference will always be followed.
Can I swap photos or request further edits after delivery?
After the final photos are delivered, photo swaps and further editing requests are not included. I carefully select and edit each final image before delivery to keep the gallery consistent.
If you would like more images after delivery, additional photos can be purchased from the sample gallery.
